Dorothy Jane Bass
DEFOREST / WINDSOR - Dorothy Jane Bass, age 98, passed away on July 15, 2014, at Parkside Assisted Living in Windsor.
Dorothy was born on June 27, 1916, to Ansel and Elsie (Cobb) Atwater in Barron, Wis. She graduated from Rosendale High School in 1933. She was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Clifford Bass, on July 10, 1938, in Ripon. They moved to Dallas, Wis., in 1940, and lived there until moving to DeForest in 1968. Dorothy was very active in the Dallas Methodist Church, directing the choir and teaching Sunday and Bible School. She was an avid golfer and a great homemaker - her chocolate chip cookies were known as the best ever! Upon moving to DeForest, Dorothy became the secretary to the high school principal and an active member of the United Church of Christ.
Survivors include her three children, Jerry (Ellie) Bass of Port Orange, Fla., Pat (Bob) Bussan of Fort Myers, Fla., and Steve (Kathy) Bass of Madison; six grandchildren, Kristi, Tricia, Stephanie, Jason, Melissa, and Angie; 10 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Bryant, Kelsi, Sarah, Danielle, Lexi, Camille, Kate, Alissa and Eden; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Allison) English of Merrill; as well as many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 62 years, Clifford; her brother, Don Atwater; sisters, Marge Lawson and Mary Gloyd; and great-granddaughter Briana Wegman.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 11 a.m. at WINDSOR UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST. Friends may call at the Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Windsor Cemetery.
