James Russell ?Jim? Goodman (Picture included)
James R. Goodman, 76, of Colorado Springs and formerly of Waukesha, Wisconsin, passed away on August 14, 2016 in Colorado Springs.
He was born on October 15, 1938 in Waukesha, Wisconsin to Theodore Bassett and Ellen (Kalk) Goodman.
Jim led a long, full life with his wife and six children, relocating from Wisconsin to Canada to Georgia and then Connecticut, and finally to Colorado in his various roles within Junior Achievement, where he retired from. He served as President of the Broadmoor Rotary Club, during which time he and his wife Karen enjoyed the trip of a lifetime traveling through Europe and the Mediterranean.
Jim had a very strong, humorous personality which mellowed over the years. He learned to enjoy his quiet retirement and spending time with his grandchildren.
He passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. His wife and family cared for him during this time, allowing him to end his days surrounded by loved ones at home. His granddaughter, Stephanie, who is studying to be a nurse, was a devoted caregiver.
Jim is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Karen Ann (Peyton) Goodman; his children, James (Sue) Goodman, Jr. of New Hampshire, Lynne (James) Carney of New York, Patti (Kerry) Dyer of Connecticut, Susan (Dean) Brehm of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Cindy (Charles) Brice of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Chad Goodman of Florida; his eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous loving family members in Wisconsin.
Please join us for a Celebration of Jim's Life, 4:00PM-8:00PM, Friday, August 19, 2016 at the Pinon Springs Condominium Clubhouse, 3530 Los Pinos Lane, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80917.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jim's memory may be made to Optum Hospice or the cancer research of your choosing.
He will be missed.
