      Margaret Beulah Bassett
      Margaret Beulah Bassett, 94, formerly of Green Bay, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 in Milwaukee. She was born October 20, 1906 to the late Dr. James and Selina (Duquette) Bassett. She attended public and parochial schools in Antigo, Wisconsin. She graduated from eighth grade in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Canada. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh with a BA degree in Education and an MA degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. In the course of her career, she taught in elementary schools in Langlade County, Mayville, Wisconsin, Antigo, Wisconsin, and Green Bay, Wisconsin. She was a World War II Veteran, stationed at Romulas Airfield (now Detroit, Michigan International Airport), where she taught instrument flying to pilots flying over the "hump" from India to China. She served as a teacher and later as the principal of Chappell and Jackson Elementary Schools in Green Bay. She enjoyed participating in and watching many sports. Margaret has lived at the Alexian Village in Milwaukee for the last several years. She is survived by her two nephews, Jack and Joel Fahres and their families. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Janet Fahres and Mae Suttner and a brother, Erd Bassett. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Avenue, from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Deacon Robert Nooker of St. Agnes Parish officiating. Burial is in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Antigo.

      Dr. James V. Bassett
      Dr. James V. Bassett, 84, a retired Green Bay veterinarian and father of James E. Bassett, Sheboygan, died earlier today at St. Mary's Hospital in Green Bay.
      He was born in Ontario, Canada, Jan. 15, 1876. His wife preceded him in death(?). Surviving in addition to the Sheboygan son, are three daughters, Mrs. Ambrose Suttner (Mae), Hilbert; Mrs. Anthony Fahres (Jeanette), Pomona, Calif.; and Miss Margaret, Green Bay; four grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Edward McDonnell, Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Charles Schjonberg, Martinus (Martinez), Calif.
      The requiem Mass will be at St. Hyacinth's Catholic Church in Antigo at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will also be in Antigo.
      Friends may call at the Coad Funeral Home in Green Bay from 3 p.m. Thursday and at the Muttart-Conrad Funeral Home in Antigo from 3 p.m. Friday.
