Charles Edward Bass Jr.
Charles Edward Bass Jr., affectionately known as Charlie by his friends and Junior by his family passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 66 with his family by his side. Born on June 8, 1959, in Degonia Springs, Indiana, Junior was a man whose zest for life and love for his family and friends. He was the cherished son of Charles Bass Sr. and the beloved grandson of Johnny and Anna Bass, who raised him with love and care.
Junior's life was marked by the joy he found in the simple pleasures. An avid sportsman, he could often be found with a fishing rod in hand, waiting patiently for the catch of the day, or on the softball field, where he played with a passion that was infectious to all who watched. His love for sports extended to a variety of other activities, each of which he approached with enthusiasm and a spirit of friendly competition.
Family was the cornerstone of Junior's life. He was the father to Nicole (Bass) Scott and her husband Randy, and Charlie Smith and his wife Abby. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Randy Scott Jr., Alexis Scott and her husband Zach, Riddik Scott, Rowen Scott, Ashlyn Bass, Hunter Smith, Zaylen Smith, and Jerzee Smith.
Junior was a loving brother to Barbara (Bass) Stevens and her husband Larry, Tammy (Bass) DeWitt and her husband Wayne, and he held close the memory of his late siblings Ronnie Bass and Ladonna (Bass) Bolin. His extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews will remember for his love for sports and gentleness.
Throughout his life, Junior formed lasting bonds with those around him, touching the lives of many with his humor. His departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, especially his buddies, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
