A memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Thursday at McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel with Dr. J. Marshall Jenkins officiating. Visitation is 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elmwood Cemetery. Mrs. Bassett was born in Charlotte, the daughter of the late John K. Gilbert and Jeanette Brigstock Gilbert. She was in interviewer with Fac-Find Inc. Survivors include her sons, William D. Bassett Jr. of Beckley, WV, Steven G. Bassett of Monroeville, PA, and Brian T. Bassett of El Paso, TX; daughter, Sharon Bassett Jenkins of Rome, GA; brother, John K. Gilbert; sister, Betty G. Robinson, both of Charlotte; and 11 grandchildren.
