  Notes	New York Times, 12 February 2026 Matthew Howard Bass BASS--Matthew Howard, 75, died peacefully at home on February 5, 2026. A warm and funny husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Matt was a devoted fan of the Mets, Michigan football and the Grateful Dead. Matt earned an MBA from Harvard, starting in advertising and TV production. He later built a long, meaningful accounting career and earned his CPA. Matt is survived by his wife, Andrea, daughters Julia and Eli, sons-in-law Rob and Sam, brother Roger and sister-in-law Holly. He will live in our hearts forever as our family grows. In lieu of flowers, please honor Matt with a donation to Central Synagogue or your favorite charity. May his memory be a blessing.
