Gail Bessette, W.J. Riley Wed In St. Joseph?s Church (Picture included)

Miss Gail Frances Bessette, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Bessette of 107 Madison St., and William John Riley, son of Mrs. Mary Jane Riley of Rexford and the late James Riley Sr., were married at 11 a.m. Saturday in a Nuptial Mass at St. Joseph?s Church, Troy. Rev William J. Way officiated. Organist for the ceremony was Paul Casey.
The bride, escorted by her father, chose a skimmer gown of silk organza trimmed with venise lace. A pink ribbon was laced through the venise insertion at the neckline, sleeves, down the front and the entire length of the train. Her bouffant veil of illusion was held by a double crown of crystals and she carried a cascade of white carnations, roses and blush pink sweetheart roses.
Mrs. James Brideau, the matron of honor, wore an Edwardian style gown of gold velvet with lace trim and a matching petal headpiece with pearl trim. She carried a colonial bouquet of zerina roses and bronze and yellow pompons. The bridesmaids, Miss Carol Bessette, sister of the bride, and Misses Gail and Colleen Riley, sisters of the bridegroom, wore similar gowns in emerald green and carried colonial bouquets of golden garnet roses and apricot colored pompons.
James Riley attended his brother as best man. Ushers were James Brideau, Seren Lamberson and David Bessette.
A reception followed at Fay?s Restaurant in Defreestville, with music for dancing provided by The Essentials from Schaghticoke.
For a wedding trip to Maine and Northern Canada, the bride chose a gray dress with matching coast and black accessories. She wore a corsage of white carnations with pink sweetheart roses. They will reside in Troy.
The bride is a graduate of Troy High School and the Colonna Beauty School of Albany. She is employed at St. Mary?s Hospital. The bridegroom is a graduate of Shenendehowa Central School and served in the Army, completing a one year tour of duty in Vietnam. He is a carpenter with Local 78, Troy.
