Charles Edward Vanoven
Charles Edward "Bob" Vanoven, 61, of Marshall died at 7 p.m. Monday, February 23, 1998 in St. Vincent's Hospital at Indianapolis, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 26 at the Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, with Bro. Gene Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Clarksville Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by Clark County Post #90 of the American Legion and VFW Post #5974. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 7 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic memorial services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born December 22, 1936 at Marshall, the son of Frank and Margaret (White) Vanoven. He married Jewell Bass on June 2, 1959 at Robinson.
Survivors include his wife, Jewell; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles Robert and Sandy Vanoven of Marshall; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela D. and Jerry Wright of Marshall; a daughter, Julie Ann Vanoven of Marshall; his mother of Marshall; two brothers, Larry Vanoven of Princeton, Ill. and George Frank Vanoven of Marshall; four sisters, Lu Sawyer of Cerro Gordo, Ill., Loretta Murphy, Sharon Ryan and Mary Jane Solomon, all of Marshall; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Vanoven, was retired from the Eli Lilly facility at Clinton, Ind., and was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of Clark County Post #90 of the American Legion, the Marshall Lodge #133 AF&AM, the Scottish Rite Valley, Zorah Shrine Temple at Terre Haute, Ind and the Clark County Sportsman Club.
