She attended Tigerton High and graduated in 1958. While still in high school, she met her future husband, Leo Bessette. After marriage, the couple lived in Clintonville for a year, later moving to rural Bear Creek where they operated a grocery store for a few years. In 1965 they purchased a home in rural Clintonville, where they have lived since, raising their three children there. Ann was active at St. Rose where she often helped preparing and serving funeral luncheons. She loved to spend time at the cottage on their property in Townsend, WI and she liked to travel.
