Bruce Calvin Sorensen, of Everson WA, peacefully passed away at the age of 68 on July 19, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital in Bellingham. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bruce was born on April 26th, 1954, in Bellingham WA to parents Roy and Lucille (Bass) Sorensen. He was the second born of 6 sons. Bruce attended Bellingham High School and married the love of his life, Roseanne Bowers, on March 21, 1975. For 47 years, he was a caring husband and devoted father to his 3 sons Brian, Brant, and Bruce.
Bruce dreamed of raising his family in the county. In 1989, he purchased a five-acre hobby farm and moved his family from Bellingham to Everson. He found great enjoyment living in the county and being able to raise beef cattle.
Family meant everything to Bruce. In his earlier years, he enjoyed water skiing, camping, and dirt bikes with his wife and sons. In his later years, he enjoyed running, taking scenic drives, restoring his 1974 Nova, and attending extracurricular activities with his grandchildren.
Bruce found his calling in truck driving. He worked for over 30 years at Sanitary Service, retiring at age 62. After retirement, he enjoyed driving silage and farm trucks in his spare time.
Bruce was a man of strong faith and taught others the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. He was a dedicated member of the Church of Christ for 47 years and attended Nooksack Valley Church of Christ for the last 27 years. Bruce loved the church and held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, nephew, and brother Ron. He is survived by his wife, Roseanne, and his three sons Brian (Breanna), Brant (Kimberly), Bruce (Amy); his eight grandchildren, Bailey (Austin) Honeycutt, Hayden, Paige, Mia, Brayden, Brityn, Brinley, Benjamin; and one great grandchild, Blakely Honeycutt. He will also be greatly missed by his brothers, sisters-in-law, mother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
