Gregory A. Bassett
Gregory A. Bassett, 61, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2025. He was the proud father of Christopher A. Bassett and Gregory M. Bassett, and the loving grandfather of Everleigh Bassett. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of the late George and Laura (Destefano) Bassett. He is also survived by his sister, Cheryl (Bassett) Morgan and her husband Kenny, as well as the beloved mother of his children, Patricia Fera Bassett.
A lifelong Warwick resident, Greg was known for his fun-loving spirit and larger-than-life personality. For many years, he owned and operated Bassett's Inn on West Shore Road-a beloved local spot where families and friends came together to share meals and make memories. After selling the restaurant, Greg followed his true passion and turned the ocean into his office. The sea held a special place in his heart, and through his work he built lasting friendships within Rhode Island's close-knit fishing community.
Hardworking, supportive, and generous, Greg lived life with a big heart and a quick wit. He loved golfing, fishing, watching hockey, and spending time with his children. His humor was one-of-a-kind-able to draw a laugh from just about anyone.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 4:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025 in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. Warwick. Per his and his family's wishes, services will be private.
