Carol Lee (Bassett) Manning
1928-2004
Carol Lee (Bassett) Manning, 75, of Newman Avenue, Seekonk, died on Christmas
Day - December 25, 2004 at her residence surrounded by the love of her family.
She was the wife of Robert H. Manning to whom she was married in January 1948.
Born in Rehoboth, Massachusetts on November 27, 1929, she was the daughter of
the late Newton and Mabel (Benedict) Bassett. She was raised in Rehoboth and
Pawtucket and was a 1946 graduate of the former Pawtucket East High School.
She moved to Seekonk in 1956.
Mrs. Manning was a dedicated homemaker devoted to raising her family and had
been employed as a computer verifier at Univis in Cranston, Rhode Island many
years ago.
She was a dedicated gardener who enjoyed maintaining the gardens throughout
her property and residence.
Mrs. Manning enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards. She loved to dance,
especially ballroom, square and line dancing.
In addition to her husband of 56 years, she leaves a daughter: Wendy L.
Manning, R.N. of Seekonk; a son: Dr. Wayne B. Manning in North Carolina; three
grandchildren: Shannon Terry of Cumberland; Kyle R. Terry of Manchester, CT
and Keith B. Terry of Seekonk; a sister: Rae Marie LaCroix in California; two
brothers: Harvey Bassett in California and Ronald Bassett of Cape Code and
several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Visitation has been respectfully
omitted. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Manning's name may be
made to the Hospice of CVNA, 141 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
