Robert H. Manning (Picture included)
1928-2006
Robert H. Manning, 77, of Newman Avenue, Seekonk, died on Thursday, January 19, 2006 at the Hattie Ide Chaffee Nursing Home in East Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of the late Carol L. (Bassett) Manning who died on December 25, 2004 at to whom he was married in January 1948.
Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on September 2, 1928, he was a son of the late Robert H. and Mildred (Breault) Manning.
Raised and educated in Pawtucket, Mr. Manning was a graduate of Pawtucket West Senior High School ? Class of 1946.
He was employed for several years for Star Market beginning as a baker in the retail grocery store?s bakery and retired in 1987 as an assistant store manager having worked for many years in the Pawtucket store.
In 1956 he moved to Seekonk. Mr. Manning enjoyed playing cards and cribbage especially at the Rehoboth Senior Center.
He was a dedicated gardener and history buff.
Both he and his wife enjoyed round and square dancing.
He leaves a daughter: Wendy L. Manning, R.N. of Seekonk; a son: Dr. Wayne B. Manning in North Carolina and three grandchildren: Shannon Terry of Cumberland; Kyle R. Terry of Manchester, CT and Keith B. Terry of Seekonk.
Visitation has been respectfully omitted.
