William Carlton Bassett Jr.
William Carlton Bassett Jr., 83, of Pasadena, died June 8 at home aft
lengthy illness.
He was born Aug. 3, 1925, and lived in Pasadena for 23 years.
Mr. Bassett was retired from Canteen Corporation where he was awarded numerous
Salesman of the Year awards.
He was also a long-standing member of the International Food Service
Executives Association where he served on the Board of Directors and helped to
establish the AACC Culinary Scholarship Program.
He served in the Navy during WWII on the USS Intrepid. He was awarded t
Purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars.
He enjoyed woodworking, making furniture, sports and poker.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris M. Bassett; two daughters,
Catherine LaMar of Glen Burnie and Christi Fratantuono of Severn; five
grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews,
great nieces and nephews.
Services and interment are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to the Anne Arundel County Chapter, Autism Society of Ameri
(AACC-ASA) at P.O. Box 1304 Millersville, MD 21108 or at www.aaccasa.org.
