Lambert W. Bassett
Lambert W. Bassett, 91, of Austin, passed away Monday, October 9, 1995.
He was born in Painted Post, New York, on March 26, 1904, the son of Charles and Helen Lambert Bassett. He retired from the United States General Services Administration in 1965 in Washington D.C. He had lived in Austin for the past 21 years. He was an avid angler and pheasant hunter and a former member of the Isaac Walton League.
He was preceded in death by his five sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marion Robson Bassett, one son, Dr. Ron Bassett of Charlotte, North Carolina; one grandson, Robson D. Bassett of Charlottesville, Virginia; and one granddaughter, Caroline Michelle Bassett of Austin.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 11, 1995, at Messiah Lutheran Church, with Pastor Don Just of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will follow in Cook-Walden Memorial Hill. His family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Messiah Lutheran Church at 5701 Cameron Road, Austin, Texas 78723. Arrangements by Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar.
