  Notes	The Telegraph, Macon, Georgia, 1 Jul 2009 Marvin J. Bassett CENTERVILLE, GA – Marvin J. Bassett, 78, passed away Monday, Jun 29, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday in the Centerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bassett was born in Peach County, GA to the late Elzie J. and Evelyn (Noble) Bassett. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he was in the Airborne Unit and was a paratrooper. Mr. Bassett was the owner and operator of the Bassett Construction Company. Survivors include his children, Bonnie, Gila, Toni, Jeff and Eric Bassett; Polly, friend and mother of his children; sisters, Elizabeth Garvin, Louise Keene, Martha Sims, Ann Mason and Jeanette Smith; seven children and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 443, Macon, GA 31208, in memory of Mr. Bassett. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
