Excerpt from The Christian Advocate, 7 September 1888, Wexford, Ireland On the occasion of his preaching in Old Ross, one of those who heard him was a girl named Kelly, then about 15 or 17 years of age, who afterwards became Mrs. Thomas Bassett; her children were Mr. Walter Bassett and Mrs. Williams (who passed to the home above a few years ago), and Miss Mary Bassett, and Mrs. Susan Leech (of the United States), who are still living. Mr. Walter Bassett told the writer that from his mother he learned that Mr. Wesley, after preaching in Old Ross, school hands with most of the members of the congregation, but especially the young people, and she among them; and that, as he was driving away in the chaise, she saw him in the act of writing ? thud ?redeeming the time.?
