Bass, Rocky was taken by ambulance last week from a hospital in Oklahoma City to he home in Stillwater. She has been quite ill. The Kiowa County Star-Review, Oklahoma, Thursday, 31 January 1963 Bass Funeral Conducted At Rocky By Mrs. C.L. Mathis ROCKY, Jan. 29-Services for Mrs. V.J. Bass, 94, were Saturday afternoon in the Church of Christ with Thomas Cunningham, Stillwater, officiating assisted by Larry Bunch, Lone Wolf. She died Jan. 23 in Stillwater. She was born in Missouri and came to the Rocky community in 1897 and lived here until moving to Stillwater in 1945. Her husband died in 1936. Survivors are four daughters and three sons including W.A. Bass, Rocky; also 26 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren. Burial was in the Lone Star cemetery with Strode funeral home, Stillwater, officiating.
