Jane Anderson
ANDERSON, Jane Bassett Thurman, 65, of Richmond, Va., died Wednesday, July 22, 2009. Born April 5, 1944 to the Rev. Dr. W. Peyton and Mary Jane Thurman, Louisville, Ky.; graduated from the University of Richmond (W'66), and married September 3, 1966. She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Dr. Douglas L. Anderson, Richmond; daughter, Leslie Anderson Straw (Matthew), Richmond; son, Barclay Peyton Anderson (Kelli), Richmond; granddaughter, Laura Jane Straw, Richmond; brother, William P. Thurman Jr. (Suzi); nephews, Chris and Scott, Lexington, Ky. and Trenton and Courtland, Louisville, Ky.; mother-in-law, Elizabeth S. Anderson, Richmond; sister-in-law, Martha Anderson Fuller (Weldon); and extended members of the Anderson and Smethie families, Richmond. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at River Road Church, Baptist (phone 804-288-1131). The family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. in the Lower Commons area at the church and a reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, Jane asked that memorial gifts be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a local area Food Bank, or a charity of your choice.
