Kenneth Bassett
Services for Kenneth Archibald Bassett will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in New Elm Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bassett, 68, died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2000. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, where he received the Bronze Star. A millwright, he was a member of the Millwrights Union in Aiken, S.C., and Carpenters Union in Macon. Survivors include his children Kenneth Andrew Bassett of Fort Valley and Donna-Lily B. Phillips of Warner Robins; companion Doris Davis of Fort Valley; brothers and sisters Joseph Bassett and Robert Bassett Jr., both of Macon, William Bassett of Musella, Betty Franklin of Sky City, Mina Bassett and Shirley Bassett, both of California, and Caro Bassett of Arkansas; and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Creat Lawn Funeral Home and may be contacted at 4012 Buckeye Road. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
