  Notes	The Messenger, Friday, May 29, 2015 John W. Bassett HARTFORD ? John W. Bassett, 61, of Hartford died Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home. John was born in Madisonville, son of the late John W. and Lillian Finley Bassett. John was a self-employed dog trainer. John also was preceded in death by a sister, Bell Bassett Wright. Survivors include his wife, Marie Caple Bassett; two brothers, Lonnie (Kristi) Bassett of Henderson and Seth Bassett of Newburgh, Indiana; four sisters, Lillian Bassett of Louisville, Ruth (Dwayne) Buchanan of Henderson, Susan Bassett of Somerset and Betsey (Jim) Horlock of St. Charles, Illinois. A memorial service is 11 a.m. Monday at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with John Cashion officiating. Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday after 9 a.m. Monday. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Ohio County, 1211 Old Main St., Hartford, KY 42347 or Friends of the Shelter, P.O. Box 7, Hartford, KY 42347.
