He was a native of Pineville and a retired railroad engineer with Missouri Pacific Railroad. Survivors include his wife, Susie S. Bass of Longville; two sons, Robert Bass and David Charles Bass Jr., both of Longville; one sisters, Eleanor Ettarie of Fresno, Calif.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today in the funeral home.
