Ruth E. Bassett (1925-2017) (Picture included)
Ruth E. Bassett (nee Clague), age 92, of Cleveland, OH, passed away June 13, 2017. Born on June 11, 1925 to Charles and Georgetta Clague (both deceased), loving wife of 44 years to the late Randall E. Bassett; beloved mother of Randall Bassett (deceased) (Trudy) and Ross Bassett (Marie); adoring grandmother of Robert Bassett (deceased) Nancy Carver, Carrie Drozdz (Christopher) and Melanie Abrajano (Todd); great grandmother of Cameron, Evan and Isla; dear sister of Charles Clague (deceased), Jeanne Kennedy (deceased), Richard Clague and Nancy Clague (deceased). Ruth was a 65-year resident of Cayuga Ct. in West Park. She was a proud graduate of the John Marshall Class of '43 and assistant to WGAR radio General Manager in the mid-1940s. Housewife, mother and longtime volunteer for the Garrett Shop of Lakewood, Ruth was a very good, kind and gentle woman who loved all and was loved by all. Visitation will take place Friday, June 16, 2017 from 4 -8 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 where funeral services will commence Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10 AM. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
