Bassett Sixty years without a death in their own family or among their descendants is the record of Lewis E. Bassett, 85, and his wife, 83, of 18226 Fairville Avenue S.W. On Monday Bassett and his wife will have been married 60 years. They have eight children. There are 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. No member of this group has died since 1883, when the great-grandparents were married. In celebration of their good fortune the great-grandparents will hold open house for relatives and friends Monday. In the early 1800's Ezra Bassett, grandfather of Lewis, came to the Western Reserve and took a tract of land fronting what now is Rocky River Drive, at the former village of Rockport. Lewis' father, Charles, was born on the tract, and died there. Lewis also was born there and still lives on the property.
