  Notes	Kilmore Free Press, Victoria, Australia, Thursday 16 Apr 1908 Mr. Robert Bassett Mr. Robert Bassett, a much esteemed resident of Strath Creek, died on 7th inst., having attained the good old age of 88 years. The gentleman named was an old colonist and reared a large family most of whom, if we remember rightly were natives of the Kilmore Survey where Mr. Bassett owned and occupied the handsome property for some time in the possession of the late Mr. M. Ahearn and family. Deceased only survived his late wife a few months, and, considering his great age, was in good health almost up to the time of his demise. He was an excellent type of the Victorian pioneer, whom to know was to respect. The remains were interred in the Kilmore Catholic cemetery on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Beegan having charge of the funeral arrangements, Fr. O?Dwyer attending to the obsequies at the grave.
