Mrs. Priscilla Bassett, wife of William Bassett, died at her home in this city Thursday, June 18, age 52 years. The decesed, whose maiden name was Priscilla Puffer, was born at Mechanicsville, May 23, 1851. At the age of 18 years she was converted, and has led a beautiful Christian life, being a member of the Methedist Episcopal church at the time of her death. On April 15, 1873, she was united in marriage to William Bassett at Mechanicsville. They removed from the latter place to Mercer county, Mo., where they resided for four or five years, and in 1879, removed to Davis county, where they have since resided, coming to Bloomfield in Feburary of the present year. Four children have been born to them. Namely Frank, Austin, Guy, and Mrs. Fred Battin, all of whom reside in this county. Deseased also leaves her mother, Mrs. A. Gilliland, of Mt. Vernon, and three brothers, Daniel C. Puffer, Lineville; Chas. A. Puffer, Cleopatra, Mo.; Nathan A. Puffer, of Davis county, all of whom were present at the funeral which occured at the residence Friday morning at 10 0'clock, conducted by Rev. J. W. Porter.
