Bass Sr., 86, of 124 Bridge St., Catasauqua, formerly of Asheville, N.C., died Wednesday in Allentown Osteopathic Medical Center. He was the husband of Sylvia (Moore) Bass. They were married 12 years in October. Bass was self-employed in the plumbing and heating business in Asheville for 45 years, retiring in 1976. Born in Park Ridge, N.J., he was a son of the late Willard D. and Phoebe (Hayden) Bass. He was a member, Sunday schoolteacher and former superintendent of Penna Methodist Church, Asheville. Survivors: Wife, son, Willard D. Jr. of Burlington, N.C., daughter Carolyn, wife of Ross D. Lyon of Whitehall Township; sister, Mrs. Phoebe Conklin of Roanoke, Va.; eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. Services: At convenience of the family.
