Eva Mae Bass
Eva Mae Bass, 78, of Humboldt, was born on May 12, 1930, in Lebanon, to Ralph and Fern Larson Helt. Eva was raised in Lebanon and attended school there. She later graduated from Lebanon High School.
On May 7, 1982, Eva was united in marriage to Vernon Bass in Holyoke, Colo. The couple lived in North Platte for many years where Vernon worked for Union Pacific Railroad. After retirement, Eva and Vernon moved to Humboldt to be closer to family. She was a member of the VFW in North Platte and also MOCA. Eva always enjoyed a good time and liked to fish and camp with family and friends.
Eva died at the Colonial Acres Nursing Home in Humboldt, Monday, April 6, 2009, having reached the age of 78.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Vernon Bass; step-daughter, Lisa Bass; and brothers, Jack, Wayne, and Ralph Helt Jr.
Eva is survived by her sons, Keith (Peggy) Carlin of Humboldt, Herbert Carlin of Humboldt, Kevin (Chris Ann) Bass of Denver; daughter, Kristine Johnson of Denver; foster daughter, Lynn Greenlee of North Platte; grandchildren, Angie Riedel, Kenneth Carlin, Nedra Carlin, David Ogilvie, Daniel Bass, Dawn Johnson, Jeff (Stacy) Johnson, Keith (Michelle) Carlin Jr., Tasha Arriola, Torrie Arriola, April Smith Puhl, Alisha Griesseller; great-grandchildren, Alexandria Riedel, Austin Riedel, Carissa Carlin, Dillon Rosenecker, Alyssa Rosenecker, Rose Donna Kisner, Miesha Alexander, Hunter Arriola, MacKenzie Johnson, and Jahven Reyes; dearest friends Hershel Riley and Donna Jones; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Memorials may be given to the family's choice.
A private family inurnment will be at the Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell at a later date. The Wherry Mortuary in Humboldt is in charge.
