Bonnie Ruth Bassett
Services for Bonnie Ruth Bassett were held Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of McClain-Hays Funeral Home.
The Rev. Wayne Crenshaw officiated. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Bassett, 83, died Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, in Neshoba County General Hospital.
She was a native and longtime resident of the Linwood community of Neshoba County. She operated, with her husband, Bassett Grocery in Philadelphia for several years.
She was a longtime employee of Belk-Hudson Department Store while she lived in Columbus.
She was a member of Linwood Baptist Church and she coordinated activities for Linwood Senior Citizen Center for several years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Edwina Bassett.
Survivors include her husband, W.N. Bassett of Linwood; two daughters, Betty Barnhill of Philadelphia and Barbara Adair of Houston, Texas; one son, William C. Bassett of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Jean Gill of Pearl.
Pallbearers were Mark Brashier, Keith Lillis, L.P. Bassett, Aubrey Nicholson, Clayton Hardy and Ken Adair.
