Webster Jefferson Bass Jr.
Mr. Webster Jefferson Bassett Jr. of Greenville, Ga. passed away peacefully at his residence, December 27, 2024, with his loving wife of 60 years at his side. Born October 20, 1940, to the late Webster Bassett Sr & Maggie Ruth (Abner) Bassett, Webster was the firstborn of four. At the age of 23, Webster married the love of his life, Shirley Ann (Allison) Bassett. Together, they brought four children into this world...later welcoming two daughters in law, five grandchildren, and four great grandchildren into the family. He retired after 40+ yrs as a propane driver / service man and spent most days outside repairing appliances, growing various vegetables, and having long conversations with visitors. A man of God, true family man, loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Webster was preceded in death by his parents: Webster and Maggie Bassett, infant son Michael Bassett, sister Jeanette Gabriel, & nieces Brenda Williams and Jeanne Grant.
Webster is survived by his wife: Shirley Bassett; children: Darryl (Tiffany) Bassett, Rodney (Tammy) Bassett, Pam Bassett; grandchildren: Dillon Bassett, Morgan Bassett, Samantha Bassett, Landon Bassett, Remington Bassett; great grandchildren: Georgia, Keegan, Delilah, & Anthony Bassett; brother: Lenward (Lena) Bassett; sister: Loretta Bradshaw; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family Sunday, December 29, 2024, from 4 - 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Monday, December 30, 2024, with Pastor Susan Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery of New Friendship Baptist Church in Woodbury Ga.--- Pallbearers will include: Lenward Bassett, Ken Bradshaw, Chris Williams, Austin Williams, Landon Bassett, Remington Bassett; Honorary pallbearers: Jack Allison, Doug Sands, Joey Tomlinson, Shannon Allison, Otha Reeves
The family would also like to thank Aveanna Hospice for all the love and support they have given us this year...Phyllis, Sharon, Christina & Annette, we love and appreciate all you do.
