Broadway died at 3:04 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 27, 1988, in Saint Joseph Hospital & Health Center. She was born Sept. 29, 1903, in Paoli, a daughter of Oscar and Allie (Burnett) Bowman. July 5, 1932, she married Rayjond Bassett, who survives. Bassett retired from Stellite Division. She was a member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church, Stewardess Board, Chumming Club, Sunshine Club, Breakfast Club and Anna C. Clayborn Missionary Society. Also survived are a son, Robert Keith Bassett of Kokomo; a daughter Martha J. Edward of Indianapolis; a half brother, William Moore of Bloomington; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Wayman AME Church. They Rev. Robert Kirk will officiate. Burial will be in Crown Point Cemetery.
