  Notes	The Post and Courier, Charleston, South Carolina, Thursday, 9 July 1998 Margaret Bass Nixon COLUMBIA - Margaret Bass Nixon died Tuesday in a local nursing home. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Nixon was born in Wilton, Maine, a daughter of John R. Bass and Alice Ness Bass. She was a graduate of Wellesley College. She was a former employee with Rivers Country Day School, Wheaton College and Harvard Business School. She was a member of the Symphony League of the South Carolina Philharmonic. She was an active member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her husband, William H. Nixon; a son, George B. Nixon of Spartanburg; a daughter, Alice N. Burress of Mount Pleasant; two brothers, George H. Bass of Brunswick, Maine, and Robert N. Bass of Cumberland Foreside, Maine; and three grandchildren.
