Rose Bassett
Rose Bassett, age 66, of Pierson, passed away June 26 at her daughter's house
in Coral. She was born September 23, 1939 in Grand Rapids, MI the daughter of
Herman and Beatrice (Williams) Roberts. Rosie was a member of the Howard City
Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo, gamble and cook. Surviving are five
sons, Thomas of Morley, Ronald (Jacklyn) of Howard City, David of Morley, John
(Kathy) Weigel of Howard City, Gordon Jr. of Coral; 31 grandchildren and 22
great-grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters, Pat Rosely of Comstock Park,
Herman Roberts of Rockford, Fredrick Roberts of Greenville, Le Roy Roberts,
Dan Nestle, Art Roberts all of Howard City, Carl and Gary Nestle both of
Morley, Ruth Ann Lofts of CA; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded
in death by her parents, her husband, Gordon, a son, James, two sisters,
Arlene and Edna and a brother, David. Funeral Services will take pla
Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Heckman Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Ball
officiating with burial in the Pierson Cemetery. Memorials to the Howard City
Ladies Auxiliary may be left at the funeral home where friends may call today,
Wednesday, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and prior to services on Thursda
