Lee Jefferson Bassett
Lee Jefferson Bassett, 79, of Boise, Idaho, passed away December 7, 2003, at his home. He was born February 18, 1924 in Vega, Texas, of Joe and Elsie Bassett. His parents moved him and his sister to Vale, Oregon, in 1926. They later moved to Ontario, Oregon. Lee graduated from Ontario High School in 1942. He helped to carry them to many victories on the football field. He served in the Army Airforce from 1943 to 1946 as a Two engine Pilot. He received the American Theater Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandson Michael Evans. He is survived by his sister Helen and brother-in-law George Rookstool and niece Jo Rossman of Tigard, Oregon; his daughter, Linda and son-in-law Roger Kushe; two grandsons, Steven & Dean Evans and granddaughter-in-law Gae Corbett; two great grandchildren, Cameron, Courtney, Dana Evans and Alicia Corbett. He left a multitude of friends that he always entertained with great stories of his colorful life. He will be sorely missed. There will be a memorial service at his home, 278 Clear Creek Road, Boise, Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome.
