Robert Stephen Bassett
Robert Stephen 'Bob' Bassett, 76, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home in Naples, FL. Born March 28, 1948 in Larchmont, NY, Bob spent his childhood in Larchmont before attending Boston College to pursue a degree in accounting. It was at BC where he met and married Mary Ann (Dargin), eventually settling in Acton, MA to raise their family. Bob found success over a long career in financial management before retiring to Naples in 2011. During his years in Naples, ?Boston Bob? enjoyed walking, spending time with his grandchildren, watching Boston sports, and sipping on the occasional Yuengling.
Bob is survived by his sister, Linda Castagna of Northport, FL; his four sons Robert 'Steve' (Lainchen) of Chicago, IL, Brian (Colleen) of Naples, FL, Jon (Vanessa) of Sudbury, MA, and Tim (Mary) of Maynard, MA; as well as his beloved grandchildren Charlotte, Lake, Catelyn, Emmaline, Matthew, and Alana. He was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Mary (McPhee), and his brothers Richard and James. A memorial service will be held at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Avenue (Rt. 111), Acton on the morning of Friday, August 30 at 10 AM, with a private burial service to follow.
