Carlyle Raymond Bassett
Chubbuck - Carlyle Raymond Bassett, 84, of Chubbuck, passed away peacefully at his home with family on Saturday, April 16, 2011.He was born in Howell, Utah, December 4, 1927, to Ernest and Lily Bassett. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Betty Jo Bassett; 11 children, David Blair, Alan Cates, Gary Cates, Randal Cates, Cheron Knight, Darla Cates, all of Fort Hall, Idaho, Vicki Cervantes, Phoenix, Arizona, Carol Sanchez, Pocatello, Paul Bassett, Joe Bassett and Kaylene Smith, Grand Junction, Colorado; six brothers and sister, Carlos Bassett, Darlene Beebe, Cloe Rene Pannel, Phyllis Thornock and Dale Ann Christensen, all of Idaho, Illa Stewart of Oregon, Evelyn Stewart, New Jersey. He was preceded in death by one son, Karl Lyle, daughter, Jenny, and a grandson, Jeromy.Carlyle loved camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with family.He was a member of the LDS Church. He served in World War II in the Army.Viewing will be at Downard Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 21, with a short service after.
