Robert M. Bassett
Robert M. Bassett, 85, died September 28, 2007. He was a resident of Villanova
for 46 years. He graduated from Lower Merion High School, Class of '41, then
attended Temple Univ., U of Penn and Harvard Univ. under the V-12 program and
served as a Naval Officer in WWII. He was also a member of Phi Gamma
Fraternity. He was co-owner with his twin brother, Henry, of Bassett McNab
Co., a designer Fabric Company in business for well over 100 years in
Philadelphia, now in Wyndmoor PA. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; 3 sons,
Robert Jr. (Pep) (Donna), Bruce Y. (Marjorie) and Scott D. (Shannon); twin
brother Henry and sister Ann B. Spicer; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and
nephews. There will be a Memorial Service Friday, October 5, at 11 A.M., at
St. David's Episcopal Church, 763 Valley Force Rd., Wayne PA, with a reception
following in the Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to
Trustees of U of Penn - Penn Memory Center, Penn Medicine, 3535 Market Street,
Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104.
