Art Bassett
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005, in Bateman Carroll Funeral Home for Art Bassett, who died Sept. 29 at age 88.
Mr. Bassett was born Jan. 22, 1917, in Salem. He was a millworker in Tallamook and lived in Sweet Home before moving to Gresham in 2004. In 1944, he married Frieda Shelton.
Survivors includee his wife; sons, Dennis and Ronald; daughter, Caroline Hartner; brother, Earl; sister, Betty Shaw; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. His daughter Sharon Vetter died in 1979.
