He was 89. Mr. Bass was born in Newberry and moved to Lake Butler in 1992. He was a retired plumber for the University of Florida and a member of the First Baptist Church of Newberry. Survivors include five sons, W. Allen Bass of Lake Butler, J. Monroe Bass of Punta Gorda; Bascom B. Bass of Divine, Texas, and Robert E. Bass and Bennett Bass, both of Lecanto; two daughters, Martha B. Holder of Newberry and Susan B. Boling of Punta Gorda; one sister, Videll B.
