He and his twin sister, Judy, were born in Tyler to Cecil and Beatrice Bass on Aug. 13, 1940. After 33 years of work at Kelly-Springfield, Jerry retired in 2002. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Beatrice Bass; twin sister, Judy Bass Collins and husband Charles; brothers, Sam Bass, David Bass and wife Joan; and niece, Laura Bass Endsley. A memorial service is scheduled for noon on Feb. 16, 2013, at Walnut Grove United Methodist Church near Whitehouse under direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, 75701.
