F.A. Bassette, paper unknown
Francis Albert, son of Alexander and Sophia Morris Bassette, was born in Berlin, Wis., Nov, 9, 1861 and died Aug. 3, 1926.
He had been in poor health for over a year but up to a short time before his death, which came suddenly at about three o’clock Tuesday afternoon, he had continued to assist with the farm work. It was hard for him to realize that the time had come when he must give up his work. Death came as a release from a long period of suffering from Bright’s disease and a heart trouble.
In 1882, at St. Joseph’s church, Berlin, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucinda Mary Tripp and to them were born eleven children, Mary, Henry, Millie, Anna, Alice, Robert, Thomas, Nora, Mrs. P.J. Hawkins, Mrs. J.E. Wilson and Mrs. M.E. Stiles.
The mother died in August, 1909, and a daughter, Anna, in November, 1919. The remaining children were all present at the funeral which was held this morning at St. Michael’s church. Father O’Hara officiated.
Besides his children he is survived by two brothers, Lewis and Julius, a sister, Mrs. J.W. Harris and nine grandchildren.
He was a kind and loving father and had a great love for his family and home.
