David C. Bassett
Palmyra: Monday September 2, 2013 at age 68. David was predeceased by his mother and father, Mary and Forrest Bassett. He is survived by his sister, Carol (Evert) Vander Molen; wife of 37 years, Kathleen Bassett; daughters, Amy Bassett and Michelle (Matt) Rohr; step-daughters, Mary (Bob) DePew and Sally (Mark) Deming; grandchildren, Robbie, Hollie, Marshall and Mitchell; step-grandchildren, Shelby and Erika; nephews, Jim and Jeff; niece, Pam. David enjoyed woodworking and was a carpenter all of his life. He was a member of the Palmyra Masonic Lodge for many years, where in 1978 he became a Master Mason. David belonged to Palmyra United Methodist Church, where he was a member for 52 years.
Friends are invited to join the family on Thursday (September 5) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 123 East Jackson St., Palmyra, NY, where a masonic service will be held at 6:30 PM. David's funeral service will be held on Friday (August 6) at 10 AM at Palmyra United Methodist Church, 109 Church St., Palmyra, NY. His interment will be in East Palmyra Cemetery.
