- 3B325462. Oliver Earl Bassett, son of Harlow G. and Sally (Clough) Bassett, was born 16 Aug 1856 in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. (EPB lists date as 11 Aug 1858) He died 16 Jun 1932 in Superior, Douglas County, Wisconsin. He married Aletha Minerva Goff, daughter of John A. and Minerva (Miracle) Goff, on 25 Apr 1883 in Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She was born 25 Nov 1865 in Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. She died 28 Jul 1909 in Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota. They are both buried in the Chase Cemetery in Mapleton, Blue Earth County, Minnesota.

MARR.: Marriage Records of Blue Earth Co., MN, p.568 (FHL film #1309276): "Oliver E. Bassett of Blue Earth Co., Minn. and Aletha M. Goff of Blue Earth Co., Minn. with written consent of John A. Goff, father of said Aletha M. Goff, a minor, obtained license 23 Apr 1883 and were married 25 Apr 1883 at Mapleton. Witnesses were John A. Goff and Harlow Bassett."
DEATH & BUR. PLACE: Chase Cemetery Records, Mapleton, Blue Earth, MN, Block 86, Lot 3, p.86 (FHL film 1674228, item 9): "Oliver E. Bassett died 16 June 1932 in Superior, Wis., age 73 yrs. 10 mos., father Harlow Bassett and mother Sallie Clough."

In the 1885 state census of Mapleton, Blue Earth, MN p.653 (BYU film #565734) Oliver Bassett is listed as age 26, born in Wis., and was living with his parents, Harlow & Sallie Bassett. Also living in the household were Aletha Bassett, age 19, born in Minn.; and David Bassett, age 1, born in Minn. Aletha could be the wife of Oliver and David their son.
