NANCY ELIZABETH BASS
Nancy Elizabeth Brown was born in Bolivar, Polk County, Missouri, July 2, 1866, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard McColm, July 15, 1933, at the age of 67 years and 14 days. She was married to William F. Bass at Newport in March, 1882. To this union were born eight children, four boys and four girls, two boys preceding her in death in infancy. She was converted at El Dorado Springs, Missouri, at an early age, holding her membership at the time of death at the Pleasant View Church. She leaves to mourn her death her husband; two sons, Clyde of Bolivar, Missouri, and Lee of Humansville, Missouri; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Clark and Mrs. Minnie Sherron, both of Liberal, Missouri, Mrs. Millie McColm, Halfway, Missouri, and Lessie, of the home; three brothers, four sisters, eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. The funeral was preached Monday, July 17, at 2 p.m. by Reverend Gene Brown at Pleasant Hill Church. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetary under the direction of Hutcheson-Blue.
"Polk County, Missouri was originally part of Greene County, Missouri until the year 1835 when Polk County was officially made a county in Missouri. Had moved to Liberal, Missouri about a year and a half before her death. Survived by her husband, 4 daughters and 2 sons. Survived by: Marie Bass Clark, Lessie Bass, Minnie Bass Sherron, Clyde Bass, Millie Bass McColm, and Ora Lee Bass. Buried at Bolivar. She is the sister of John Michael Brown, Ellen Brown Bass, Perry Cicero Bass, Joseph B. Brown, Rebecca Ann Brown Earheart, Laura Jane Gibson, Mary Susan Brown Jenkins, and Wyatt Brown. She is buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetary, west of Burns, east of Bolivar on Missouri State Highway #32, on north side of road."
