Emory Johnson
Emory Eugene Johnson GEORGETOWN - Emory Eugene Johnson, 91, passed away on May 1, 2015 at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Emory was the son of the late David Eugene Johnson and Emmie Mobley Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Audrey Bass Johnson, one son, Jefferson Emory Johnson (Patricia), one daughter, Jennifer Johnson Rader (Bobby), three granddaughters, Nicole, Michelle, and Jenna Johnson, two step-grandsons, Robert Keith Rader (Samantha) and Joseph Allen Rader (Erin), and four step great-grandchildren. Emory was a graduate of Winyah High School, Class of 1943, and a retired supervisor from Georgetown County Landfill. He was the oldest member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church. Prior to his declining health, he was an avid hunter and an active member in his church. He is predeceased in death by two brothers, David Barney Johnson and Herman Deleon Johnson, two sisters, Eula Merle Johnson and Alice Johnson. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. on Sunday May 3, 2015 at Johnson Chapel Baptist Church, 4186 Johnson Road Georgetown, S.C. 29440. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Monday, May 4, 2015 at Johnson Chapel Baptist Church with burial, directed by Morris Funeral home of Hemingway, immediately following in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Johnson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1925 Sumter Street, Georgetown, S.C.
