Grady Kennedy
Mr. Grady Kennedy, age 72, of Glen St. Mary, Fla., died Sunday, December 3, 2000, in the St. Vincent?s Medical Center, Jacksonville, Fla., following an extended illness. Mr. Kennedy was a native of Ashburn, Ga., and had resided in Lakeland, Fla., and Abbbieville, Ga. before moving to Glen St. Mary, Fla. in 1956. He was the son of the late James and Pearl Nickels Kennedy and the widower of the late Margie Josephine Bass Kennedy. He had worked in the logging and pulpwood industry for many years until his retirement in 1990.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Davis of Glen St. Mary, Fla.; four sons, Steven Kennedy and Larry Kennedy, both of Glen St. Mary, Fla., John Kennedy and Jeffrey Kennedy, both of Macclenny, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Kennedy and Lewis Kennedy, both of Lakeland, Fla.; three sisters, Myrtice Owens, Delores Burce, and Inez Sumnea, all of Lakeland, Fla.; nineteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren. Mr. Kennedy was preceded in death by a son, Joseph F. ?Joey? Kennedy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2000, in the First Baptist Church, Macclenny, Fla. with Rev. Jimmy Nevill officiating and assisted by Rev. Leslie Thomas. Graveside committal services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 6, 2000, in Blockhouse Cemetery, Jacksonville, Ga. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2000, at Guerry Funeral Home, U.S. 90 East, Macclenny, Fla.
