Sharon Linn Bass
October 25, 1942 ? October 4, 2026
Sharon Bass, 83, a longtime resident of Corning, California, passed away peacefully at her home on October 4, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born on October 25, 1942, in Picher, Oklahoma, to Cecil and Dollie Anderson. At the time of her birth, her father worked as a miner in the local lead mines. Sharon spent much of her childhood in the St. Louis, Missouri, area before moving with her parents to Oxnard, California, in search of new opportunities and a better future. In 1967, Sharon met and married Larry Bass of Newbury Park, California. Together, they began building a life and family, welcoming their son, Mark, in 1968, followed by their daughter, Shauna, in
1972. In 1976, Sharon and Larry moved their young family north to Corning, California, where they established their roots and made their home. While Larry worked in Willows, Sharon devoted herself to raising their children while also pursuing a career in real estate. In 1987, Sharon began a new chapter in her professional life when she accepted a position with the
State of California as the office manager for the California Highway Patrol's Red Bluff office. She dedicated the next 16 years to her work with the CHP, retiring in 2003 after a career in public service. Throughout her life, Sharon cherished time spent with her family, especially her six grandchildren: Caitlyn and Adrianna Safford of Corning, Garret and Caleb Bass of Paradise, and Cassidy and Brandon Green of Missouri. Sharon treasured the time they shared and the memories they created together. She also enjoyed spending time with friends, particularly line dancing at local venues,
where she found happiness in music, dancing, and good company.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Bass, in 1991.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Bass and his wife Amber of Paradise, California, and William Green of Missouri; her daughter, Shauna Safford, and her husband Jack of Corning, California; her six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Patsy Joiner, Jenny Perault, Cecilia and her
husband Dennis D?Aquila, all of Missouri. Sharon will be lovingly remembered for her devotion to family, the friendships she enjoyed, and the
many memories she leaves behind. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
