George Bass Is Dead
He Had Lived in Topeka for Last Fifty Years
George Bass died Thursday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Mary Hercules, at the corner of Ridge and Munson.
Bass came to Topeka fifty years ago and for forty-seven years conducted a coal business at 724 Adams. He was born in England and came to the United States when he was nine years old. He is survived by six children; William Bass and Samuel Bass, of Topeka; George Bass, Wakaursa; Mrs. Emma Wilson, of Auburn; Mrs. Sarah Northrop, of Basehor, Kan., and Mrs. Mary Hercules, of Toepka. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o?clock from Penwell?s chapel. Burial in Mt. Hope cemetery.
