William M. Bass Dies At Home In This City
Long-Time employe of the Government and Member of the Masonic Fraternity
Willilam M. ass, sixty-five years old, for many years an employe of the government in the Monticello, 3167 Mount Pleasant street northwest. Funeral services are to be held at the residence at 10 o?clock Sunday morning. Rev. Dr. Abram Simon and Rev. Dr. Louis Stern officiating. Interment is to be in the Hebrew cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born in Baltimore. He came to Washington as an employe of the government printing office when he was twenty-one years old. He later entered the State Department and afterward the Department of Commerce and Labor.
Served in Division of Publications.
When this department was made into two departments Mr. Bass was appointed clerk in the division of publications of the Department of Commerce, which position he held at the time of his death.
Mr. Bass was a member of St. John?s Lodge, No.11, F.A.A.M.,and of Eureka Chapter, R.A.M. He was a member of the Indiana Society of this city.
Mrs. Rose Bass, who was the daughter of Capt Abram Hart before he marriage, survives her husband. Besides Mrs. Bass, four brothers are living ? Louis Bass of Baltimore, Samuel Bass and Abe Bass of Lafayette, Ind., and Henry Bass of Decatur, Ill.
