Bass, 81, of Jacksonville passed away May 5, 2009 at the McGraw Center for Caring Community Hospice. She was born June 11, 1927 in Lumber City, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late William D. and Susan L. Wright. She had made Jacksonville her home since 1957. She was predeceased by her spouse Jesse Lee Bass and brother William C. Wright. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Gary Powers, son Wendell J. Bass, sister Ann Wiedegreen (Al), brother Bill Wright Sr. (Judy), sister-in-law Carolyn Wright, granddaughter, Kelly Collins, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials contributions may be made to Community Hospice of N.E. Florida.
